Changes in Jacket Design

It may not look like it but the jacket did end up changing from the first prototype.

1.The two piece hood became a three piece hood with a straight grain panel in the middle

2. The left sleeve - double layered to a box pleated sleeve

3.The right sleeve - Closed plain cape sleeve to open knife pleated sleeve

4. The double rever on the inner right was removed

5. The length of the jacket increased

6. The sleeves didn't have to be lined as they are pleated and hence were bias bound instead

7.The button placement changed

The order of assembly changed drastically even though the overall design change wasn't as dramatic.

Lining the jacket became harder and it was not possible to sew the traditional outer shell and lining to complete the jacket.

Instead each piece of the jacket had to be lined prior to being stitched together. The facings were also eliminated as I used a striped muslin fabric instead of the traditional silk/ satin lining. The outer revers were made of Crepe Back Satin where as the inner was muslin.

The outer jacket was made of cotton.
