Client Diaries

Working in a couture house is phenomenal. My new favourite thing about working here is how relaxed everyone is when it comes to Celebrities. As this is Manish Malhotra we're talking about his clients range from Actresses to models, to social activists to brides, etc. My colleagues talk about celebrities so calmly it bewilders me.

I always have to keep my cool when they're running around the office asking if we have Priyanka Chopra's new sketches or if we've received the brief on Deepika Padukone. In case you don't know who these people are, I've linked them just for reference. Oh and the thing that's the craziest to me is they use first name basis!! I'm so used to Actresses full names so I never realised how normal it sounds when you refer to them on a first name basis.

Anyway, the reason I'm secretly fangirling about all of this is because we got a brief to design an outfit for Priyanka Chopra as she is meeting the Prime Minister of India soon (?). Question mark because I think that's what I heard but I was so excited to be in the meeting and the actual brief that I missed that little detail, oops. Oh and I helped design (well alot of input) Deepika Padukone's showstopper outfit for an upcoming show!

Unfortunately can't disclose any more information and it goes without saying but I'm not allowed to attach any pictures or research involved in this project since this is all supposed to be kept hush hush. But I saw the Mijwan (embroidery) for the latest season and it's breathtaking. It's incredible to see all these garments close up and actually pay attention to all the minor details.
