INIFD is the International Institute of Fashion Design. Taking inspiration from Marc Jacobs, Manish Malhotra has decided to offer a short online course too. Since I'm in the graphics department I was given a brief to assist my senior and edit the leaflet which is going to explain the whole concept.
The course will be kicking off towards the end of the year or possibly even early 2019. The reason we had to edit the leaflet was because originally, the leaflet was created by an external agency but we weren't too happy with the results. It didn't reflect Manish Malhotra's design identity either so we took it upon ourselves to create a more polished version of the leaflet.
Surprisingly, the agency didn't even use InDesign to create the leaflet, they used Illustrator and hence each page was a separate file. This was incredibly inconvenient as we couldn't preview the document. Due to this we had to edit each file and keep it in a separate folder in order to view the layout. Whilst editing the file I learned a few useful hacks.

I learned how to increase the line spacing in paragraphs which is helpful for editorials/ magazines, lookbooks etc. This is done by going to Window - Type- Paragraph. I also learned how to increase the spacing between letters in a word. The easiest way to do it is to press and hold Alt (Option) + Arrow key.
We ended up finding new fonts, creating new logos and completing changing the layout. The best part, the leaflet got approved!
