Team work

Working in a professional environment is hard sometimes, purely because it's not just me working on my own but working in a team.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in a previous blog post but all the work we do is someone else's vision hence I'm just doing my best to stay within the bounds of the vision. (If that makes sense?) This week, there was one day in particular where I had a few moments when I had choose other people's idea's and opinions over my own because that's how teamwork works I guess.

There were a few creative disagreements, but I had to learn to understand why. Unlike school or university where you just get mad or annoyed when you disagree with someone, you really have to maintain your professional views. It was a really good learning experience because I personally think everything went pretty well. I maintained my composure and respectfully proceeded with the work. I'm making it sound so much more dramatic than it actually was, but on multiple occasions I didn't quite agree with the creative choices that were made. It was as simple as the font that was used or a picture that was placed.

I'm actually quite proud of myself. Its pretty easy for me to work with people but when you're in a stressful environment on a time crunch, things affect you more than usual.

It helps that the people I work with are extremely encouraging. This makes it feel like its worth it, espeically when you get acknowledged for the amount of hard work you're putting in.
