Mijwan Welfare Society is an NGO run by Ms. Shabana Azmi after the death of her father Late Kaifi Azmi, who was the founder of MWS. Kaifi Azmi founded MIJWAN WELFARE SOCIETY (MWS), Kaifi Azmi girls inter-college, Kaifi Azmi computer centre , the Sewing and embroidery centre where students are taught stitching and embroidery.

The objectives of the Society are Employment, Self Reliance, Sustainable Development.

The "Mijwan Fashion show" is s fundraiser fashion show by Manish Malhotra. It has been taking place every year since 2014. This year it was meant to take place in 2 days which was the 9th of April, but unfortunately the show got post poned.

However!!! I got to see the final collection today! I can't even put into words how exciting it was to see the whole collection. Both menswear and womenswear were stunning. It was almost like a dream being called into MM's office by Sir himself! I scanned the room and was starstruck almost immediately. Prior to this, I'd never seen the clothes close up. I've seen them on the racks, and in fittings, but never close up and in so much detail.

Since the show hasn't actually taken place yet, I can't even discuss the garments much, but they were beyond gorgeous.

The reason we were called into the main room in the studio was because Sir was having a meeting with his senior designers and assistants regarding which garments were actually going to make it into the show. Almost like the last edit before the final show?

The show is massive, I heard 50 models walk the show, so there was a massive discussion going on about that. It was really interesting to hear Sir's notes for each outfit and to see which outfits got picked and his reasoning for each. Being creative director for a company means you're responsible for every garment that gets shown in fashion shows, so watching someones vision come to life is a different experience all together.

He really knows what his brand is lacking and what it's thriving on. Listening to someone bring up what their worst critic would probably say is quite inspiring. Sometimes designers get so stuck on what they're good at, that they forget how to grow, But in this case, MM really is aware of how his brand is perceived and he truly takes everything into consideration.
